Pigeon costume and GIVEAWAY reminder!

So I headed over to my classroom this morning to arrange some things and when I opened up my closet door I saw my PIGEON HEAD!
I was so excited, I had forgotten about it.  Every class of students that I have had has fallen head-over-heals for the pigeon series.  Last year, I hosted Read Across America day at our school and encouraged teachers and students to dress up.  I knew I had to create a costume that would stand out so I went over to my local Hobby Lobby (love this place) and purchased light blue, white and black felt.  I sewed the felt together into a hood and added a visor for the beak.
When I picked up my students on the morning of Read Across America Day, they were ecstatic!  For the rest of the year, anytime I read a pigeon story I had to put on the Pigeon head.
So I have to ask, what character have you dressed up as before?
I can't wait to hear your responses!

I'm finishing this blog entry with a friendly reminder to enter in my giveaway!  It is quick and easy and ends at midnight!  There have been few entries so your chances of winning are pretty good :)

  3. I love dressing up for character days. We always did this during Dr. Seuss week. Our students were not allowed to dress up on Halloween, but we had a book character day during Read Across America week. I dressed up as one of the three little pigs and Pippy Long Stockings.

I nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award.
